Took my teens to Derinkuyu after reading about underground cities, and honestly, totally worth it. The tunnels go waaay deeper than I expected, and there’s this odd echo when you talk. My daughter kept ducking because the ceilings are SO LOW in places. Can’t imagine living like that, but the engineering is wild—like, there are spots for wine, animals, everything. We skipped the guide and kinda regretted it, since there’s not much signage. Still, felt cool exploring on our own. Crowds picked up around 11am, so go early if you don’t wanna shuffle behind groups.
